Job Description
We are hiring a Associate Field Service Engineer responsible for onsite repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for CNC machines and related peripheral equipment, supporting customers in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Responsibilities- Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for CNC machines, including servo, spindle drives, and motor systems; investigate customer issues and perform root‑cause analysis under the guidance of supervisors or managers.
- Participate in structured training programs, including on‑job and classroom learning.
- Support the company’s commitment to exceeding customer expectations while building effective customer service skills.
- Ensure all quality‑related concerns are communicated promptly to appropriate supervisors or managers.
- Manage and control assigned inventory to ensure accuracy and availability; learn and follow service operations, procedures, and company policies, including timely submission of required documentation.
- Maintain and safeguard company‑issued tools and equipment.
- Travel to customer sites as required, including 2–8 overnight stays per month, and travel by air for training and meetings in accordance with company guidelines.
- Operate under direction of supervisors or managers, who provide detailed guidance and match assignments to experience level.
- Collaborate with supervisors or managers to determine appropriate diagnosis, repair actions, and parts requirements, working alongside senior‑level Field Service Engineers.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proven experience providing customer support, preferably in a technical, customer‑facing role or field service environment.
- Familiarity with common electrical components such as relays, circuit breakers, sensors, and motors.
- Ability to maintain tools and equipment while transporting parts and materials (up to 75 lbs.) to customer locations.
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills in identifying and resolving equipment issues.
- Ability to analyze problems, select preliminary solutions, and adapt approaches as needed.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills in CNC systems and related equipment.
- Flexibility in traveling 80%-90% to customer sites.
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license and maintain a personal vehicle for business use, with the ability to travel throughout the assigned service area as required.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in electronics, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Two years of relevant experience in a technical customer support or field service environment.

The pay range for this position is $53,578 - $85,948 per year, based on salary and additional compensation such as bonuses and profit sharing.
