Position: Electrical Engineering Co-Op (Hoffman Estates)

Acquires further qualification for a Bachelor's degree, and gathers respective working experience in different administrative fields of expertise, in the course of a respective assignment.

Responsibilities
  • Development of low complexity printed circuit board assemblies, FPGA designs, and test fixtures.
  • Development of test firmware/scripts for automated testing of assemblies.
  • Development of engineering tools, databases, websites, and hardware infrastructure needed to support the engineering environment.
  • Integration testing of new hardware/software releases with thorough documentation of test results and written report summary.
  • Creation of defect reports and verification of fixes.
  • Calibration and field return analysis.
Skills
  • You have completed courses in core electrical engineering concepts.
  • You have good PC skills (MS Office software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook).
  • You will be working with our latest technology and therefore you are willing to learn about new software and hardware solutions.
  • Willingness to learn new tools and skills related to circuit design, PCB development, FPGA programming and other design methods.
Required skills and education
  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program, majoring in Electrical Engineering (rising senior preferred).
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (preferred).
  • Registered and eligible to participate in a co‑op through your university.

The pay range for this position is $24‑$40 hourly; however, base pay offered may vary depending on education, skills, and experience. Siemens Healthineers offers interns paid time off.
