QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.A. in Accounting or five years of relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use generally accepted accounting principles to analyze, record and process a variety of accounting documents.
  • Evaluate, recommend and assist in the development and implementation of new or revised departmental policies and procedures.
  • Analyze, maintain and record financial data for assigned general ledger accounts, periodically prepare reconciliations, and prepare both routine and complex reports.
  • Identify problems and gather evidence to draw logical conclusions and corresponding solutions.
  • Research, prepare and post journal entries to transfer funds or make corrections as needed.
  • Use analytical skills to serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex accounting problems and issues.
  • Investigate department expenditure and budget questions.
  • Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulation.
  • Create various reports for outside auditors and federal, state, and other agencies.
  • Evaluate supporting documentation, answer inquiries and prepare audit schedules with variance explanations for the annual audit.
  • Assist in maintaining and organizing College financial records.
  • Perform requested reviews of internal controls and recommend courses of action.
  • Exercise considerable initiative to meet assigned objectives.
  • Research and analyze special projects as required.
  • Oversee the allocation and tracking of employee-related account balances in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Record and prepare various tax agency returns.
  • Participate in quarterly Oracle Fusion ERP release testing, including validation of financial modules, workflows, and integrations to ensure system stability and compliance.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for ERP processes, configurations, and testing protocols.
  • Support data integrity efforts by performing periodic audits and reconciliations of ERP-generated financial data.
  • Cross‑train as backup for other staff members.
  • Extract and manipulate data needed for year‑end accruals.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Financial Services, under the direction of the Controller, encompasses the business side of running the College.
