MySQL DBA
Location:
Hoffman Estates, IL, 60179
Duration: 12+ months contract
Responsibilities- Setup MySQL master/slave replication and automated backup and performance tuning.
- Perform SQL tuning, performance tuning, database administration, backup and recovery, and user creation and management.
- Monitor databases using MySQL Enterprise Monitor for monitoring and tuning.
- Work with a team of about 10 developers; 80% development and 20% DBA work.
- Identify and address issues related to SQL performance and provide training on database best practices to developers.
- Collaborate with the development team to communicate performance requirements and constraints.
- Team structure:
There is one DBA who works closely with developers.
- Experience with MySQL administration, replication, backup/recovery, and tuning.
- Solid understanding of MySQL performance optimization and ability to communicate with developers.
- Experience with MySQL versions 5.5 and 5.6; upgrade recommendations are preferred.
