Assist the asphalt plant manager in leading the production teams (production, quality, etc.) while developing oneself for advancement and contributing to the success of the business.
- Promote and sustain a safe working environment for the facility by driving continuous safety, environmental, and quality improvements and supporting a culture based on current best practices set by the asphalt plant manager.
- Assist in supervising, orienting, and training staff and team members in disciplines that will improve performance while providing employees with information provided by the asphalt plant manager to develop leadership and training. Assist in maintaining the budget and cost reduction initiatives set by the asphalt plant manager.
- Carry out planning of day and night activities for all locations that include production, repairs, and maintenance, loadout, and deliveries that have been made by the asphalt plant manager.
- Work closely with quality control to monitor all outgoing materials produced. Keep the asphalt plant manager informed on all issues.
- Support and carry out plans that the asphalt plant manager has set for maintenance orders, scheduling, and emergency repairs to keep the plants operational.
- Assist the asphalt plant manager in ensuring staff are held accountable for the development and execution of all continuous improvement initiatives set by the asphalt plant manager.
- Assist in leadership, training, and development of initiatives to ensure a robust succession plan.
- Assist the asphalt plant manager with communication with customers on supporting their operations and issues they have. Relay any information necessary to the asphalt plant manager.
- Involved in all day-to-day activities to maintain the plants and property management.
- Assisting in winter work with mix designs, winter planning, and office work.
Required Skill/ Knowledge:
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
- Willingness to learn skills for budgeting and financial analysis skills and effectively plan and allocate resources.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Some experience in an industrial environment or engineering technology, production or related field.
