Position: Inside Sales Representative ($22 hourly base + commission)

Job Description

Inside Telephone Sales Representative – Scholastic Education Division, Hoffman Estates, IL (Hybrid). Hourly base pay $21–$22 with commission.

Responsibilities
  • Manage an assigned territory of school and district accounts to achieve or exceed sales goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with educators, principals, and district leaders to understand their literacy and learning priorities.
  • Conduct needs assessments and align Scholastic Magazines+ to current curriculum and standards.
  • Upsell and cross‑sell other titles when appropriate to generate new business.
  • Host online product demonstrations/implementation webinars using virtual platforms.
  • Understand product line and technology components to recommend and demonstrate magazines that fit customer needs.
  • Stay informed of terminology and current trends in education, including funding opportunities and state or district initiatives.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture that reflects Scholastic’s mission and values.
  • Meet or exceed activity, lead generation, and pipeline goals.
Qualifications
  • Preferred:
    Sales experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and experience with sales automation, CRM or web‑based software.
  • Ability to execute a vision, manage multiple priorities, and achieve results.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship‑building skills with peers, superiors, and customers.
