Chicago Marriot Northwest is looking for a Banquet Sales Manager. Responsible for all sales efforts related to group events, parties, catering and other sales related functions.
Must have 2 to 5 years banquet and relevant experience. Marriott Experience required. Salary will be based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Develops, implements and executes group sales, including making sales calls, as well as in person visits to businesses and fundraising organizations in attempt to network and drive revenue.
- Responsible for accounting details including the development of invoices and collection of payments.
- Develops an understanding of target customers and their individual needs.
- Reserve, coordinate and detail corporate and social events.
- Produce weekly group sales reports, sales strategies and updates on revenue.
- Coordinate the food and beverage service, linens, and all other rentals for each event.
- Manage guest surveys and overall guest satisfaction.
- Point of contact for each group or event to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Works closely with the kitchen and banquet staff to ensure flawless execution.
- Undergraduate degree required, ideally in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications or Sales. Minimum of 5 years’ experience with responsibility for large volume events.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with an ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as demonstrated professionalism and diplomacy.
- Ability to exercise sound business judgment generating effective solutions quickly and/or raising issues to management as necessary.
- Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Team player with an exceptional customer service attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings.
