Maintenance Technician Tech II MRH

Summary

Performs healthcare maintenance of building and grounds equipment, finishes, systems and structures through scheduled rounds and responding to work order and requests. Acts as a mentor to employees and a resource on more complex and technical maintenance issues.

• Conduct routine and specialized preventive maintenance and perform safety checks on specialized equipment.
• Repair mechanical equipment and systems, including motors, pumps, pneumatic tubes, plumbing systems, sanitary systems, specialized water systems, medical gas outlets, plumbing fixtures, blowers and fans.
• Perform general maintenance functions such as carpentry, painting, interior finishes, millwork, doors and windows.
• Read and follow blueprints, schematics, charts, computerized maintenance work orders, schedules and written instructions.
• Maintain logs and computerized preventive and corrective maintenance files to comply with local, state and federal regulatory requirements.
• Assist with emergencies such as the Hurricane Activation Plan, as assigned.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting support and update leadership and staff on maintenance situations and conditions.
• Coordinate and advise other departments, contractors and staff for department projects and maintenance.

High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).

Three (3) years of maintenance experience.

Physical demands include bending/stunting (60%), climbing (40%), lifting or carrying 0‑25lbs (20%), 75‑250lbs (20%), pushing or pulling 0‑25lbs (60%) and 75‑250lbs (20%). Repetitive movement of feet/legs (60%) and hands/arms (80%) is expected. The position requires standing (60%), walking (60%), and use of hearing (80%). Employees may encounter bio‑hazardous waste, elevated temperature, fire risk, hazardous chemicals, electrical shock, and heights. Protective gear and safety procedures are provided as required.
