Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep our residential and program facilities safe, functional, and welcoming. In this full-time role, you'll perform preventive and corrective maintenance on building systems, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and grounds work. You'll complete work orders, conduct safety checks, support unit turns, and respond to urgent repairs, often in housing and care settings serving vulnerable individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, equipment, and grounds across LSS facilities
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical issues within scope of role
  • Complete work orders in a timely, professional manner while minimizing disruption to residents and staff
  • Conduct safety checks, identify hazards, and follow OSHA and organizational safety standards
  • Assist with apartment/unit turns, painting, minor carpentry, and fixture replacement
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed and escort them on-site
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and on-call needs as scheduled
  • Support accessibility and comfort needs of vulnerable residents in a trauma-informed manner
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure facilities are clean, safe, and mission-aligned
