Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Craft Washbay Roustabout must understand, follow, and actively promote all AES safety policies and the Alaska Safety Handbook. This role requires the ability and willingness to lead by example and educate fellow employees on safe work practices, behaviors, and ethical standards. The individual must be knowledgeable in confined space entry procedures and qualified to perform the responsibilities of both an entrant and an attendant.
In addition, the Senior Craft Washbay Roustabout must be mechanically inclined and capable of performing maintenance and troubleshooting on a variety of fluid pumps and related equipment.
A valid Class A or B CDL is required as well as a current DOT Medical Card.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESCoordinate and maintain an efficient workflow through the Washbay while responding to phone calls and emails in a timely and professional manner.
Demonstrate proficiency in SharePoint, including the ability to create, manage, and complete SharePoint work orders accurately.
Safely operate air chipping hammers, high-pressure washers, and high-pressure steam boiler systems to clean the interior of tanks, vessels, and other equipment.
Perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, tank and vessel cleaning, equipment washing, shop maintenance, and steam cleaning of tanks, culverts, piping, and related equipment.
Maintain accurate and legally compliant boiler operating logs and other required documentation.
Conduct routine inspections and assist with the maintenance of Washbay equipment, tools, and facilities to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including general housekeeping of the shop, Washbay, work areas, and break room.
Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEMust be authorized to work in the U.S.
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
A valid (U.S issued, Alaska compliant) Class A or B CDL is required.
A current DOT Medical Card is required.
A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.
The ability to work 87.5 hours a week on a 2x2 or 3x3 rotation rolling into days and nights is required.
At least two (2) years of related training and experience as a Washbay Roustabout is required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCEThree (3) or more years of experience working as a Washbay Roustabout specifically in the Petrochemical or Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in other Arctic environment is preferred.
Confined space experience is preferred.
General knowledge of heavy equipment operation, maintenance, and related equipment systems is preferred.
