You Are

A reliable and skilled maintenance professional who takes pride in maintaining safe, functional, and well-kept facilities. You are resourceful, detail-oriented, and able to troubleshoot and repair a variety of building systems. You work well independently and collaboratively, maintain strong working relationships with staff and vendors, and demonstrate respect and compassion when serving vulnerable populations.

What You’ll Do

Maintain the operational safety and functionality of Camillus House facilities by performing inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance. This role supports the organization’s mission by ensuring that facilities remain safe, clean, and operational for clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors.

Position Summary

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, the Facilities Technician performs repairs and preventive maintenance services across all Camillus House facilities. The position is responsible for maintaining building systems, addressing maintenance requests, and ensuring safe, clean, and properly functioning environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect buildings, grounds, and facility systems to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and required repairs.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, motors, pumps, appliances, and office equipment.
  • Complete minor facility repairs such as painting, carpentry, masonry, drywall, flooring, and ceiling tile work.
  • Assist with facility setup, office moves, furniture installation, and reconfiguration of work and storage spaces.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of facility areas including rooms, hallways, restrooms, stairways, elevators, parking lots, and other common spaces.
  • Maintain outdoor grounds including mowing, weeding, spraying, and general cleanup of open and parking areas.
  • Respond to emergency and unscheduled maintenance requests, complete work orders, and maintain maintenance, inspection, and mileage logs.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in safe condition, work collaboratively with staff and vendors, and perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Skills & Competencies
  • Ability to understand and support the mission of Camillus House.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of diversified maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of trade tools, safety precautions, occupational hazards, and local codes and regulations related to maintenance trades.
  • Proficiency in computer applications such as Word, Excel, and data collection programs.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff and contractors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Cultural sensitivity when working with vulnerable populations.

Full-time:
Monday through Friday

Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed
