Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to provide immediate accounting leadership while the company searches for a permanent hire. This role combines day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities with higher-level accounting, project accounting, and financial reporting duties.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounting Manager:

Accounting & Financial Operations

Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Ledger activities
Process monthly operating and material bills while monitoring cash availability
Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end schedules
Review daily bank exceptions and assist with cash management

Project Accounting

Prepare project billings, including AIA G702 and G703 pay applications
Partner with Project Managers to maintain accurate project financials

Compliance & Contract Administration

Support payroll tax and payroll-related filings including 941, SUTA, and FUTA
Assist external CPA with annual financial statements and tax filings
Coordinate insurance-related requests and compliance documentation

Qualifications of the Accounting Manager:

Required:

3-5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Construction or project-based accounting experience
Experience with job costing and AIA billing

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Quick Books experience
Construction contract administration experience
Experience supporting financial reporting and forecasting
