Special Education Teacher
Tact Staff EDU is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Special Education Teacher (LBS1) to join our team for the school year in the Homewood, IL area. This full-time, onsite special education teaching position provides an opportunity to support students with diverse learning needs while collaborating with educators, families, and school teams to create meaningful educational experiences.
Position Details- Job Title: Special Education Teacher (LBS1)
- Location: Homewood, IL Area (South Suburban Chicago)
- Start Date: August 17, 2026
- Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (35 hours/week)
- Setting: Onsite, School-Based Position
- Pay: $50-$55/hour on W2 (based on experience and qualifications)
- Employment Type: Contract | W2 Employment
- Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals, accommodations, and educational needs.
- Provide specialized instruction in academic, behavioral, and functional skill areas to support student growth and independence.
- Adapt and modify curriculum, instructional materials, and classroom strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities.
- Monitor student progress through data collection, assessments, and ongoing evaluation of academic and behavioral goals.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team discussions to ensure effective student programming.
- Implement classroom management strategies and positive behavior supports to promote a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with district and special education requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) endorsement.
- Experience working with students with disabilities in a school-based setting preferred.
- Knowledge of special education regulations, IEP development, accommodations, and differentiated instruction.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment for diverse learners.
