Position Title: Clinical IT Project Manager

Location: Remote

Position Status: 6-month contract

Pay Rate: 45-50/hr W2

Position Description

The Solutions Integration Lead – IT Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all solution integration components of a large Athena EMR implementation. This role owns the timeline, milestones, dependencies, and critical path of the integration workstream, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with both business and clinical needs. The position requires leadership in technical readiness, interface and system integrations, and risk/issue management.

The PM collaborates closely with internal project teams, IT resources, clinical leadership, operational leaders, Athenahealth teams, and third? party vendors. They will lead vendor? hosted meetings, support design and development efforts, and participate in defining technical requirements to ensure a successful go? live. This is a hands‑on execution role, ideal for someone with Athena EMR implementation experience, strong organizational skills, and deep familiarity with healthcare IT integrations (e.g., PACS systems, MRI systems).

The role is primarily remote but requires on? site support during go? live events in June and August.

Project Management & Delivery
  • Own overall timeline, milestones, dependencies, and critical path for solution? integration components within a large Athena EMR implementation.
  • Ensure all deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with business and clinical objectives.
Risk, Issues & Readiness
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, constraints, especially related to:
  • Technical readiness
  • Interfacing
  • Integrations
Cross Functional & Vendor Coordination
  • Lead/support vendor? hosted project meetings, including status updates, working sessions, and executive readouts.
  • Facilitate collaboration between:
    • Project staff
    • IT teams
    • Clinical leadership
    • Operations
    • Third? party vendors
    • Athenahealth resources
Technical Leadership
  • Support design and development efforts for system integration components.
  • Participate in technical requirements definition and analysis.
  • Work closely with teams on interoperability and healthcare interfaces (e.g., PACS systems, MRI).
Go Live Support

Required to be on-site during Go? Lives in June and August.

Core Competencies
  • Highly organized, detail? oriented IT PM with Athena EMR implementation experience.
  • Experience in healthcare integrations (PACS, imaging, interfacing systems).
  • Strong understanding of IT solution design, interfacing, and integrations.
  • Experience leading technical teams within large implementations.

  • Primarily remote
  • Requires in-person support during two Go? Live periods
  • Designed for a PM who has both healthcare IT experience and hands-on involvement with systems integrations and Athenahealth implementations.
