Field Service Technician
Join a growing industrial equipment company as a Field Service Technician. In this role, you will travel to customer locations within a 100 mile radius of Chicago, IL to install, service, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical equipment. This is a hands-on position for a technician who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and providing excellent customer service. Will be provided a company vehicle.
Responsibilities- Travel to customer sites to perform equipment repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose equipment issues and identify effective repair solutions.
- Install and replace components such as hydraulic lines, cylinders, switches, motors, and other mechanical parts.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
- Conduct basic welding repairs when required.
- Complete service reports, work orders, and documentation using company-provided mobile devices and software.
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding equipment status, repairs, and recommendations.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies while working in the field.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and repairs.
- Electrical troubleshooting skills, including working with industrial controls.
- Basic PLC troubleshooting knowledge.
- Proficiency using computers, tablets, and mobile applications.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently in a field service environment.
- Experience repairing industrial equipment, machinery, or automated systems.
- Knowledge of sensors, limit switches, relays, solenoids, and other control devices.
- Welding experience.
- Experience in maintenance, service, manufacturing, construction equipment, or other industrial environments.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Company-provided service vehicle and tools.

This is a Permanent position based out of Homewood, IL.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $83200.00/yr. Company will pay a guarantee of 40 hours per week. Work starts when you leave your house for the day Company service truck Company cell phone Health, dental, vision, 401k Paid holidays Vacations/PTO Lots of support from team that is not in the field When on call every 6th week, will get 1.5X for Saturday and 2x on Sunday Automatic OT rates if working on Saturday and Sunday Paid a minimum of 4 hours when called out on weekend even if repairs are less.
Saturday is 1.5X and Sundays 2x.
