Job Overview

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957 and is one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. We are looking for a highly motivated, reliable, and trustworthy individual with excellent customer service skills and a detail-oriented mindset to clean and maintain a commercial location. Previous experience in janitorial, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, but not mandatory.

All applicants must successfully pass the HBM prescreen check and have a valid Hawaii driver’s license. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for cleaning common areas, maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, and reporting any maintenance issues. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or with a team are essential.

Schedule:

Sunday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday 1:00 PM–9:30 PM, Wednesday 1:00 PM–9:30 PM, Saturday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM (32 hours weekly)

Hourly Rate: $17.50

• Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of all common areas within the facility.
• Operate a golf cart to navigate the property.
• Clean and organize office spaces to uphold a professional environment.
• Clean and maintain six restrooms.
• Restock restroom supplies and ensure restrooms are clean and sanitary.
• Use vacuum equipment to thoroughly clean indoor flooring.
• Sweep and mop both interior and exterior floors, and clean glass doors and mirrors to a high standard.
• Disinfect frequently touched surfaces, including wiping down all tables and chairs to promote hygiene.
• Collect and properly dispose of trash from designated areas, including lifting trash from bins and transporting it as needed.
• Safely maneuver trash bins and navigate staircases as part of waste management duties.

• Must pass HBM prescreen check.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have a valid Hawaii driver’s license.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Effective verbal communication skills in English.
• Capacity to access and navigate two floors via elevator and stairways.
• Physical capability to lift, bend, and handle trash disposal tasks.
• Experience operating a golf cart is preferred.
• Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as vacuums and floor maintenance tools.
• Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, frequently press, lift, push, pull, carry a minimum of 30 lbs (up to 50 lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk, stair and ladder climbing and stand throughout their shifts.
