Position Overview

Immediate vacancy with the Department of Transportation, Airports Division.

Shift Work

Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Duties

Supervises and participates in keeping assigned buildings and building areas clean and orderly, including heavy lifting, cleaning places and equipment which are not easily accessible, simple building repair work, operating industrial type cleaning equipment, and performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Legal Authorization to work:
    State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • General

    Experience:

    Two (2) years of janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting, and cleaning of buildings.
  • Supervisory Aptitude:
    Applicants must possess supervisory aptitude, demonstrated by experience leading teams, supervisory responsibilities, or completion of supervision training.
  • Driver's License:
    Valid driver's license at time of appointment.
  • Federal Criminal History Records Check:
    Required for positions that require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport, to be cleared within ten years of any disqualifying convictions.
