The immediate vacancies are with the Department of Transportation, Airports Division.

Rotating Shift Work

All applicants must be available to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Duties Summary

This position supervises the work of a group of janitors and other custodial personnel in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings and building areas, and performs other related duties as assigned.

This position supervises a crew of 4-6 inmate workers and is responsible for the janitorial and housekeeping functions of the facility, including the maintenance of grounds adjacent to buildings, minor repairs, and simple building maintenance tasks not requiring trade skill, such as carrying and moving heavy furniture and equipment, cleaning places and equipment, etc.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • General

    Experience:

    Two (2) years of janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting and cleaning of buildings.
  • Supervisory

    Experience:

    One (1) year of experience which included responsibility for scheduling and inspecting the work of subordinates, instructing employees in the proper method of performing the work, maintaining discipline, ensuring that safety practices are adhered to, and keeping records of work activities.
  • Driver's License:
    Applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Federal Criminal History Records Check:
    Persons considered for employment in positions requiring unescorted access to secured areas must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check and must not have been convicted of a disqualifying criminal offense within ten years from the date of application.
