Position: GENERAL LABORER II - MAUI

Immediate vacancies are with the Department of Land & Natural Resources in Maalaea, Kihei, Wailea, and Lahaina. This recruitment may be closed at any time.

Duties Summary

Perform a variety of semi‑skilled manual work tasks involved in road, building, and other maintenance projects, or refuse collection work involving continuous heavy physical labor as a major work assignment; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
  • Legal authorization to work: citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
  • At least one (1) year of manual unskilled and/or semi‑skilled work experience in general construction and/or maintenance; or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Driver's license:
    Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. Immediate vacancies require this.
  • Physical requirements:

    ability to lift and carry objects of varying weights without assistance or with assistance or equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted and 75 pounds assisted; immediate vacancies have this requirement.
  • Special requirement:
    Forklift certification within 6 months from the date of hire.
