SHEET METAL Mechanic; Aircraft​/Painter Security Clearance

Position: SHEET METAL MECHANIC (AIRCRAFT/PAINTER) with Security Clearance
Duties
* Plans and lays out work from blueprints, sketches, drawings, specifications, and work orders in the repair, coating or manufacture of aircraft structural components
* Develops patterns, cuts, forms, joins, assembles, and installs items and systems which have combined straight and curved edges or irregular curves, angles, and planes.
* Operates and maintains complex hand and power tools and equipment such as sliproll forming machines, box and pan brakes, beading and tubing machines to fabricate and repair items
* Prepares surfaces and applies protective coatings to a variety of materials, such as sheet metal, honeycomb, radomes, and composites then correctly disposes of hazardous waste products
* Utilizes safety practices, Federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and AF Environmental Compliance Assessment Management Program (ECAMP) environmental protection practices and procedures and complies with security regulations, directives and policies. * This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program.
* Mission Essential (ME) position performing a Mission Critical Function (MCF) which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions. IAW, DoDI 3020-42, Defense Continuity Programs
* The duty of the employee is to provide immediate and continuing support for combat operations or to support maintenance and repair of combat essential systems of the armed forces.
* Performs duty in a combat zone after the evacuation of nonessential personnel in connection with a war or a national emergency declared by Congress or the President,
* and it is impracticable to convert the employee's position to a position authorized to be filled by a member of the armed forces because of a necessity for that duty to be performed without interruption.
* Employee must sign DD Form 2365 as a condition of employment. Employees could be assigned to any location worldwide providing civilian support to combat operations
* and could deploy to non-combat locations in response to contingencies, disaster relief, or other emergency operations. (IAW: Section 1580 of title 10, United States Code) Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-3800, Metal Work Group, Sheet Metal Mechanic, . Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying.
