Recruitment Number 24-0306 The immediate vacancies are located in Halawa to Kalihi, Downtown, and Manoa to Kahala. One of the positions are for Temporary employment in Manoa to Kahala. Shift Work:
For some of the immediate vacancies, applicants must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays. This recruitment will be used to fill current temporary full-time and permanent full-time vacancies.
Note:
Employees appointed to temporary positions may also gain membership in the civil service upon satisfactory completion of an initial probation period of at least six months. Once you become a member of the civil service, you become eligible to apply for promotion and transfer opportunities to permanent as well as other temporary positions. You may also enjoy other rights and benefits afforded to an employee in a permanent position with the exception of return rights and placement rights associated with a reduction-in-force.

Summary
Supervises and participates in keeping assigned buildings and building areas clean and orderly, including heavy lifting, cleaning places and equipment which are not easily accessible, simple building repair work and operating industrial type cleaning equipment; and performs other related duties as assigned.

Experience:
TWO (2) YEARS of janitorial or related custodial work such as sweeping, dusting and cleaning of buildings. Supervisory Aptitude:
Applicants must possess Supervisory Aptitude. Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. Some of the immediate vacancies have this requirement. Federal Criminal History Records Check:
In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport, must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application.
Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years. The cost for the records check will be the applicant's responsibility.
