About the Role:

The Janitor position within the Transportation and Warehousing industry plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across commercial buildings and facilities. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of food safety training or certification relevant to janitorial duties.
• Experience performing janitorial duties in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Basic computer literacy to use scheduling and reporting software.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to follow them consistently.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in the transportation or warehousing industry.
• Familiarity with cleaning and maintaining stainless steel surfaces.
• Certification in occupational safety or hazardous materials handling.
• Ability to operate specialized cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers or buffers.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and trash removal in commercial buildings and warehouse facilities.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and other common areas following established food safety and hygiene protocols.
• Maintain and polish stainless steel surfaces and equipment to ensure cleanliness and prevent corrosion or damage.
• Operate cleaning machinery and equipment safely and efficiently, including floor scrubbers and buffers.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to minimize hazards and ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
• Use computer systems to log cleaning schedules, report maintenance issues, and track supply inventory.
• Assist with setting up and breaking down areas for special events or operational needs as required.
