Maintenance Technician

Kahala Nui, often considered Hawaii's premier Senior Living Community is looking for a full-time Maintenance Technician. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for assisting the Building Operations department in the maintenance and repair of all grounds, buildings, apartment homes and equipment. Maintenance Technicians serve as a member of the first responder team in assisting in every way possible to ensure safety for the residents and associates of Kahala Nui.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform routine maintenance and repairs on community buildings, resident apartments, and common areas.

Complete preventive maintenance tasks according to established schedules.

Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance issues.

Respond promptly to resident service requests and maintenance work orders.

Conduct regular inspections of building systems, equipment, and grounds, as directed by the Maintenance Manager.

Monitor and maintain emergency systems, including fire safety equipment, generators, alarms, and emergency lighting.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and community policies.

Maintain maintenance logs, inspection records, and work order documentation.

Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors as needed.

Assist during emergency situations, severe weather events, and disaster preparedness activities.

High School Diploma or equivalency required.

Minimum 1-2 years building maintenance experience with general knowledge in all facets of building maintenance.

Must possess basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment

Possess a basic knowledge of construction principles.

Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations.

Must be available to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings, and holidays.(Equivalent experience or education may be substituted at the hiring manager’s discretion for educational or work experience requirements)
