Job Duties:
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment. The role includes making minor repairs to the interior and exterior of buildings, maintaining furniture and equipment, using basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and mechanical skills. Duties also involve lawn care, trash removal, operating small engines and lawn mowers, maintaining vehicles through oil changes, filter replacements, tire changes, brake repairs, and record-keeping, cleaning and replacing filters on air conditioners, performing minor repairs on central heating and AC systems, mopping, waxing and vacuuming floors, and other assigned tasks.
The position requires knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical systems, plumbing, painting, heating and air conditioning, as well as operation, maintenance, and safety of motorized vehicles and equipment. The role is performed on a routine building and grounds maintenance basis and involves the use of electrical tools and machinery. Formal education equivalent to a high school diploma plus one year of experience or training in building construction trades, general building maintenance, or repair of mechanical equipment is required.
Qualifications: Formal education equivalent to a high school diploma. Other job‑related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements, except for certification or licensure requirements, upon approval of the Qualifications Review Committee.
Salary Information: $27,500.00
