Facility Engineer Day Shift

• Perform preventative maintenance and other assignments throughout the facilities and grounds.
• Present a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino.
• Enthusiastically support, actively promote, and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
• Maintain strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
• Provide impeccable guest service to all guests.
• Maintain building by performing preventive maintenance and other related maintenance activities.
• Perform preventive maintenance throughout the property, including hotel rooms.
• Open, track, and close out work orders and PMs.
• Conduct data entry on work orders.
• Observe safety rules and maintain a safe environment.
• Notify Director of Facilities concerning needs of major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, cooling, plumbing and equipment.
• Follow established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years technical experience in specialty or general maintenance field required.
• Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Facilities team members.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

• Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
• Written communication skills in English may also be required.

• Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
