Facility Engineer I - Full Time (Day Shift

We are currently seeking a talented individual to become a Facility Engineer I.

• The Facility Engineer I is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and other assignments throughout the facilities and grounds.
• Always presents a friendly and professional image at the Hotel/Casino.
• Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes, and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all departmental and company matters.
• Provides impeccable guest service to all guests.
• Maintains building by performing preventative maintenance and related maintenance activities.
• Performs preventative maintenance throughout the property, including hotel rooms.
• Opens, tracks, and closes out work orders and PMs.
• Conducts data entry on work orders.
• Observes safety rules and maintains a safe environment.
• Notifies Director of Facilities concerning needs of major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, cooling, plumbing, and equipment.
• Follows established procedures and policies of the Oaklawn Racing Casino Resort.

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1‑3 years technical experience in specialty or general maintenance field required.
• Must be able to perform the physical job duties of all Facilities team members.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff, and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

This job does not have supervisory responsibilities.

• Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
• Written communication skills in English may also be required.

• Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state, and local regulations.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving history as determined by Oaklawn Jockey Club.
