Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

Claxton is hiring for a full time Shop Technician in Houma. The Shop Technician will maintain, service, and operate Claxton rental and purchased equipment onshore and offshore.
Duties
- Provide service technician practical support at offshore/onshore locations, working alone or as part of a work crew in line with abrasive cutting procedures
- Run the Claxton tool operation offshore/onshore in accordance with the operations manual
- Provide engineering support in the workshop to prepare Claxton's own and client equipment
- Prepare equipment and tools for jobs, specifications and Claxton procedures
- Service and maintain Claxton's and clients' own equipment, as per ISO
9001 standard and Claxton procedures - Operate / Service Diesel driven high pressure pumps and Hydraulic pumps
- Mobilize / demobilize an entire offshore / onshore spread
- Handling of hoses and abrasive as need for spread
- Keep track / check inventory parts within all equipment
- Walk through checks within all equipment during cutting / testing operations
- Attend factory acceptance testing as required, in line with Claxton's procedures
- Check equipment prior to the start of the job to ensure correct tool allocation, ensure project load-outs are completed smoothly, prepare spares, consumables and hand tools, as per Operations manual procedures
- Prepare offshore paperwork/documentation as per administration pack guidelines and company procedures
Required
- Work offshore for a maximum of 60 days as needed
- On call rotation
- GED or equivalent, preferred
- Able to work on own initiative or as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Takes responsibility for work allocated and driven to deliver an excellent service
