Delgado Community College is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time Custodian 1 position to clean, maintain classrooms and buildings, and provide sanitary facilities for students, staff and the general public at Delgado Community College.

• Cleans restrooms, offices, hallways and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing and polishing. Empties and decontaminates trash containers. Disposes of infectious waste when assigned.
• Mixes or blends routine cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks. Cleans and waxes floors using industrial size mops and/or machines. Strips and polishes floors using buffing machines.
• Washes blinds, windows and walls with prescribed solutions. Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas. Maintains equipment; reports need for painting and minor building or equipment repair to a supervisor.
• Performs pest control duties to include removal of dead rodents from all areas of the facilities to include exterior/interior buildings, light fixtures and offices. Removing used traps and replacing them with new traps.
