DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Confiscate and dispose of illegal Bandit Signs off City Right of Way
- Perform basic maintenance, routine cleaning of service vehicle
- May operate basic power and hand tool equipment
- Operate City of Houston vehicles to and from work locations
- Perform additional miscellaneous assignments as required
This position routinely requires stooping, bending, and/or lifting of items of 30-80 pounds with occasional periods of walking on rough surfaces.
There are routine exposures to significant levels of heat, cold, moisture and air pollution.
The position may involve periodic exposure to chemical substances and physical trauma of a minor nature such as cuts, bruises, and minor burns.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTSVery fundamental levels of the ability to read, write and follow simple oral instructions as might normally be acquired through up to 8 years of formal schooling.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSNo experience is required.
LICENSE REQUIREMENTSMay require a valid Texas Class C driver's license and compliance with the City of Houston's policy on driving. Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.
