Job Summary
The Lead Workshop Technician will assist and train the technicians in the shop, including operating devices and machinery, performing repairs, supervising shop staff, enforcing safety regulations and monitoring inventory and supplies.
Key Responsibilities
• Guide and train technicians with various repairs.
• Performs diagnosis and repairs of cranes.
• Ensure that all repairs are completed to meet Tadano quality and expectations.
• Meet with management to deliver feedback and develop work optimization strategies.
• Implement strategies to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
• Implement training curriculum for training of technicians.
• Monitor inventory levels and replenish supplies as needed.
• Perform administrative tasks such as ordering of parts, opening work orders, assigning repairs and keeping management updates on completion dates.
• Upkeep workshop parts inventory.

Qualifications
• Demonstrated mechanical experience in crane diagnosis, maintenance, and repair.
• Working knowledge of applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability and willingness to work 40+ hours per week, including Saturdays as needed.
• Ability to safely operate electric and LP-powered forklifts.
• Spanish-English bilingual proficiency preferred.

Evaluates equipment issues, repair requirements, and operational challenges to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

Ensures all repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities meet Tadano quality standards, customer expectations, and operational requirements.

Collaboration:
Works effectively with technicians, management, parts personnel, and other departments to achieve operational goals and deliver exceptional service.
• Time Management:
Prioritizes work assignments, balances competing demands, and ensures repairs and projects are completed within established timelines.
Pay Range
Estimated Salary Range: $68,640 - $74,880 annually (DOE)

This position operates primarily in a workshop environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods; walk; bend; stoop; squat; kneel; crawl; climb; balance; push; pull; and reach overhead. The employee must be able to work safely in confined spaces and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more on an occasional basis.
The position also requires the ability to operate tools, equipment, and machinery associated with crane diagnostics, maintenance, and repair activities. Visual acuity sufficient to inspect equipment, identify mechanical issues, read technical documents, and operate machinery safely is required.
