- Perform basic cleaning of park facilities and monitor supplies in restrooms.
- Report any problems or hazardous conditions to the designated authority.
- Perform additional assignments as required.
- Maintain park grounds by picking up litter and debris.
Routine exposures to moderate heat, cold, moisture/wetness, and unpleasant air conditions. May involve routine exposure to soiled materials and light chemical substances such as cleaning solutions.
Educational RequirementsVery fundamental levels of ability to read, write and follow simple oral instructions, typically acquired through up to 8 years of formal schooling.
Experience RequirementsNo experience required.
License RequirementsMust have a valid driver’s license and comply with the City of Houston’s policy on driving (A.P. 2-2). Preference for applicants with a valid Texas Class C driver’s license.
Preferred QualificationsPreference will be given to eligible veteran applicants who possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved. Preference will also be given to applicants who have experience in ground maintenance and who can work day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Safety Impact Position: Yes – subject to random drug testing; if a promotional position, must pass an assignment drug test.
Pay Grade: 4
Salary Information: General funds position. Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate’s qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
