Position Overview
Keep our communities fed. Our focus is simple but meaningful—from our distribution centers to our offices, every employee of C & S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors, and communities. As a Receiving Clerk, you will work with external truck drivers and keep records of incoming shipments. You’ll make a difference by utilizing your strong attention to detail and accurate record‑keeping skills to get the job done.
Responsibilities- Greet incoming outside truck drivers and direct them to the proper unloading bay.
- Enter purchase order receipts into the computer system and print receiving tags for use by receivers.
- Contact carrier representative to make arrangements and issue instructions for delivery of materials.
- Confer and correspond with customers, vendors, and others to rectify problems such as damages, shortages, and non‑conformance to specifications.

- Grocery (dry goods)—about 50°–90°.
- Special skills: proficient in eLearning or performance‑support technology and production; expert working knowledge of technical and non‑technical training media, including Articulate, Articulate Storyline, and/or Captivate; bilingual in English and Spanish a plus; strong planning and execution skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with people at all levels.
- Physical abilities: occasionally climb up to 4 ft (must have fall‑protection training and proper equipment); occasionally crawl, kneel, grip, lift, and carry up to 60 lbs; frequently balance, stoop, handle, pivot, finger, feel, and reach (waist‑to‑overhead); frequently sit, stand, and walk on carpet, tile, or concrete; continuously talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive movements using both hands and feet.

- Experience:
0–2 years—at least six months of warehouse experience; preference for candidates with grocery‑selection experience. Pallet jack experience preferred.
