Position Overview
Lead Hospital Services Technician – $21.80/hr, Day Shift. Good benefits.
Responsibilities- Travels between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs and services, including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substance and Document Shredding; installs product, resurvey accounts and assists Supervisor in asset/inventory management.
- In the absence of a Service Supervisor, leads Hospital Services Technicians, trains, coaches and provides guidance.
- Acts as primary on‑site contact for customers; interacts professionally with onsite staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded; may travel to customers in the assigned area to proactively resolve customer service questions and issues.
- Maintains a rigid collection and service schedule; may assist with installs as required.
- Communicates duty status on a defined schedule.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Fills in for other team members on vacation, sick leave, or other absences.
- Position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing; able to lift up to 55 pounds and push or pull carts up to 500 pounds.
- Education equivalent to high school graduation or GED.
- Two or more years of industry‑related customer service experience preferred, or equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact.
- May require mandatory immunizations and credentials per customer requirements.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel between customer facilities.
- Must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the primary customer base.
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications including spreadsheets and application‑based programs to track daily KPIs.
Shift: Monday through Friday, with possible travel on Sundays. Shift time: 4 am to 7 am, depending on the hospital. Locations:
Texas Children’s Hospital and servicing facilities in Houston, Cypress, Woodlands, Sugarland, Baytown, Clear Lake and surrounding areas – roughly 15–30 accounts. Mileage and parking reimbursement available.
