General Maintenance Engineer B

Job Summary

We are looking for a General Maintenance Engineer - B to be part of the Hyatt Regency Houston-Downtown team in Houston, TX. The role is responsible for general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, meeting spaces, and front‑of‑house areas, including preventive maintenance in guest rooms and public spaces.

Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, kitchen, and laundry equipment throughout the hotel. Perform preventive maintenance on guest rooms and public spaces. Communicate effectively with staff and guests. Prioritize tasks and manage workload efficiently.

• Minimum two years of general building/facilities maintenance experience
• Availability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Intermediate knowledge of bathroom plumbing fixtures, door hardware, and HVAC systems
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Previous hotel or service industry experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and adaptability in a diverse work environment
• Excellent verbal communication and customer engagement skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask effectively
• Proficiency with electronic devices and computers
• Knowledge of a second language is a plus

• Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
• Regular kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting moderate weight up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional climbing of stairs, ladders, and ramps
