Job Overview
Koch Specialty Plant Services, LLC is looking for Pipe fitters to work across various U.S. locations. KSPS provides tower, vessel, and mass transfer equipment services to the refining and chemical industry.
Responsibilities- Identify and properly install trays, packing, grids, feed pipe, distributors, collectors, and other column pressure internals under limited supervision.
- Utilize hand and power tools and other equipment necessary to perform assigned work.
- Apply basic Process Safety Management knowledge and Hazardous Communication skills.
- Recognize exchanger components such as straight tube, U bend, fixed head bundles, channel head, dollar plate, bell head, and floating head.
- Interpret engineering drawings or blueprints to guide installation of process internals.
- Minimum 6 months of industry experience (preferred).
- Experience in gas and oil field construction (preferred).
- Must provide own transportation to job locations throughout the U.S.
- Must complete company and customer project entry requirements including training, background check, and drug test.
- Must have current TWIC Card or be able to obtain one if required.
- Two or more years of industrial plant experience in blinding, opening, cleaning, and repair of operating pressure vessels such as towers, reactors, drums, exchangers, heaters, and/or installation of mass transfer equipment.
- Experience installing process internals such as valve trays, bubble cap trays, mist eliminators, structured packing, reactor internals, random packing, distributors, and collectors.
- Ability to use an oxy‑acetylene torch.
- Ability to operate arc gauger.
- Basic plus orientation training.
- Confined space training.
- Successful completion of an NCCER craft assessment certificate(s).
