Requirements:- Must have reliable transportation to present at assigned location.
- Occasionally required to climb stairs, ramps, and steps. Walk and stand continuously.
- Ability to work special hours such as days, nights, and possibly weekends.
- Ability to read and understand instructions on cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building maintenance.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
- Ability to properly handle cleaning products; chemicals.
Terms:
230 Days
- Work Schedule (3:00 pm - 11:30 pm)
$15.00 per hour/HS-3
The salary is based on verifiable work-related experience, as established by the Board of Directors for the school year.
Essential Functions:- Maintain a cleaning program that includes cleaning floors, blackboards, trash cans, windows, furniture, equipment, and bathrooms.
- Sweep and mop floors.
- Vacuum carpeted areas.
- Disinfect according to the Operations Department's policies and procedures.
- Keep school buildings and grounds clean and orderly, including the pedestrian way, vehicle entrances, parking lots, and play areas.
- Comply with local laws and procedures for waste storage and disposal.
- Help maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.
- Assist with setting up the cafeteria, including organizing tables and chairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the comfort, health, and safety of students and staff.
- Move furniture or equipment within the building as directed by the director.
- Help organize facilities for special events.
- Help with opening and closing the building each school day.
- Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and securing facilities.
- Check all exit doors daily to confirm they are closed and secured.
- Inspect machines and equipment for safety and efficiency.
- Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform work tasks, including lifting, climbing, etc.
- Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and immediately report any condition that cannot be corrected to the supervisor.
- Move, unpack, and store supplies and books.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or person in charge of assigned projects.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Ability to work well with diverse groups of employees.
Frequently required to lift and transport loads of up to 60 pounds at least, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level.
