Job Details Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

  • Assist maintenance staff with simple, routine tasks such as cleaning work areas, organizing tools, and basic facility upkeep.
  • Perform basic duties such as changing light bulbs, tightening loose hardware, and helping with minor repairs under guidance.
  • Help maintain outdoor areas, including debris pickup and basic groundskeeping tasks.
  • Learn how to operate building systems, including HVAC, electrical panels, plumbing fixtures, and mechanical equipment.
  • Support technicians during inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks by gathering tools, preparing work areas, and observing procedures.
  • Assist in recording maintenance activities in electronic or paper systems as trained.
  • Learn to identify when equipment or building issues need to be reported to senior technicians.
  • Help with emergency response tasks such as cleanup and basic checks following weather events or facility disruptions.
  • Follow all company safety rules and report unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Safely operate company machinery and report any issues.
  • Perform other simple tasks as assigned while continuing to develop technical skills.

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Ability to follow instructions, safety rules, and basic written procedures.
  • Willingness to learn about electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or interest in hands-on work preferred.
  • Ability to use simple hand tools.
  • Good problem-solving attitude and willingness to ask questions.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (heat, cold, noise, heights).
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented mindset.
  • Strong work ethics, reliability, and eagerness to learn new skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Vocational training or interest in trade skills preferred but not required.
