Under general supervision, the Helper, All Sports Hourly is responsible for performing assigned duties to support various athletic events at HISD Sports Complex locations.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Serve as ticket seller, ticket tearer, and/or ticket taker at HISD sporting events. Sell game tickets, take ticket stubs, count passes, and turn in tickets at the end of the third quarter of the event. May assist stadium director with money count.
- Work at concession stand. Prepare food, oversee money transactions, stock supplies after the event, and clean the stand after the game. May assist stadium director with money count.
- Act as runner at HISD sporting event. Set up field video, assist with final preparation for game (troubleshooting), and retrieve cameras.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED
Work ExperienceLess than 6 months
Skill and/or Required Licensing/Certification- Strong communication skills
- Ability to determine correct change
- Must be able to provide own transportation
No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice and training to staff.
Work Complexity / Independent JudgmentWork and tasks are often straightforward, routine, structured and guided by established policies and procedures. Little, if any, independent judgment is required, outside of making basic choices in the selection and application of established methods. The job receives frequent, ongoing supervision.

Communication / InteractionsBasic communication - very little communication required such as receiving basic instructions. Interactions are mostly with customers, own supervisor and co-workers in own department.
Customer RelationshipsFollows through with customer inquiries, requests and complaints. Forwards difficult and non-routine inquiries or requests to appropriate level for resolution.
Working/Environmental Conditions- Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noise, chemicals, etc.
- Ability to carry and/or lift up to 15 to 44 pounds.
