What We Are Looking For
The Facility Technician supports the safe, reliable, and compliant operation of facility systems, utilities, equipment, and work areas within a 503B outsourcing facility. This position performs routine inspections, preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, repairs, cleaning support, work order completion, and facility readiness activities in accordance with company procedures, safety requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practice expectations, Good Documentation Practices, and quality system requirements.
The role supports manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations by helping maintain a clean, organized, functional, and inspection‑ready facility.
- Perform routine facility inspections and document observations related to building condition, utilities, equipment, safety, housekeeping, and operational readiness.
- Complete assigned preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, and general repair work orders in accordance with approved procedures and established timelines.
- Support operation and basic maintenance of facility and utility systems, which may include HVAC units, air compressors, purified water systems, boilers, chillers, refrigeration units, plumbing systems, electrical distribution, lighting, waste systems, and related equipment.
- Assist with cleanroom and controlled‑area support activities, including restocking gowning supplies, maintaining material readiness, supporting housekeeping expectations, and reporting facility conditions that may affect controlled environments.
- Respond to facility‑related requests from Operations, Quality, and other departments in a timely and professional manner.
- Troubleshoot basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, utility, and facility issues and elevate complex or critical concerns to management or qualified personnel.
- Support vendor, contractor, and service provider activities by coordinating access, communicating site expectations, and helping ensure work is completed safely and in accordance with company requirements.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of maintenance activities, work orders, inspections, equipment checks, repairs, parts usage, and related facility records.
- Support calibration, qualification, validation, and requalification activities as directed by Engineering, Quality, or Maintenance leadership.
- Monitor and report abnormal equipment performance, alarms, leaks, temperature or humidity concerns, utility interruptions, safety hazards, or facility conditions that may impact product quality, employee safety, or regulatory compliance.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, maintenance supplies, and facility storage areas in a clean, organized, and controlled manner.
- Follow company SOPs, safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, cGMP expectations, Good Documentation Practices, and applicable regulatory or code requirements.
- Support inspection readiness by maintaining facility areas, equipment spaces, utility rooms, and documentation in a clean, organized, and compliant state.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, consistent with the scope and requirements of the position.
