PositionSummary
The Facility Operations Technician, under the direction of the Plant Supervisor and Operations Manager, performs general labor and housekeeping duties to support the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the facility. This role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the plant, assisting with routine maintenance and operational support, and helping mitigate odor nuisances through daily monitoring and facility upkeep. The Facility Operations Technician also supports compliance with applicable company policies and city and state environmental regulations
Essential Job Functions- Assist the Plant Supervisor and leadership team with assigned operational and facility support tasks.
- Perform general labor and daily housekeeping duties throughout the facility, including pressure washing, pumping, sweeping, shoveling, collecting debris, emptying trash receptacles, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Support facility cleanup efforts and maintain work areas, equipment, and surrounding grounds in a safe and orderly condition.
- Inspect, monitor, and maintain the facility's odor control and misting systems by ensuring nozzles are functioning properly and odor control chemicals are maintained at appropriate levels.
- Perform routine facility inspections and assist with minor repairs and basic maintenance as needed.
- Conduct daily odor observations both inside and outside the facility and promptly report or address potential odor concerns within the scope of the position.
- Identify and report odor sources, maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or operational issues to the Plant Supervisor, Operations Manager and General Manager.
- Accurately monitor, document, and maintain required TCEQ odor logs and other operational records as assigned.
- Follow all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures while performing assigned duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
- This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; associate degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Basic communication and problem-solving skills.
- Experience around hi-voltage equipment & chemicals preferred.
- Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. multiple times a day.
- Ability to work in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to climb scaffolding/ladders over 30 ft above ground.
- Must be able to travel up and down catwalk stairs repeatedly.
- Must possess a Valid Driver's License.
