, you will play a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the specialized refrigeration and scientific equipment that preserves valuable research samples and supports essential laboratory operations.
In this hands-on role, you will perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, and operation of a diverse range of systems, including ice machines, cold rooms, laboratory refrigerators,
-20°C and
-80°C freezers, low-temperature centrifuges, and other scientific equipment with integrated refrigeration systems. Leveraging your expertise in refrigeration, mechanical, and electrical systems, you will diagnose complex issues, implement effective solutions, and help ensure uninterrupted research activities.

Through preventive maintenance, equipment monitoring, and adherence to safety and quality standards, you will help safeguard critical research assets and contribute to the success of innovative scientific programs that improve children's health and well-being.
Job Duties- Operate and maintain:
- Chilled water and steam heat, excluding generation
- Potable water distribution and associated equipment
- De-ionized water generation
- Emergency power
- Monitoring energy management system (EMS)
- All other facility support systems
- Respond to and resolve EMS alarms.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and repair programs.
- Refrigeration support for the facility.
- Responsible for making minor electrical repairs and modifications.
- Available to work other shifts as necessary.
- Use of ANSI class 75 safety shoes is required.
- Provide assistance with life safety or security situations as necessary.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Five years of maintenance mechanic experience, including three years of refrigeration equipment maintenance and repair.
- EPA certificate.
