Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Facility Services at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking a Senior Maintenance Mechanic with extensive experience installing, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical systems and equipment in regulated facilities. Responsible for performing detailed inspections, executing preventive and corrective maintenance, and ensuring building systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with institutional and safety standards. Demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, sound troubleshooting skills, and exceptional attention to detail, with the flexibility to support building and infrastructure maintenance needs as assigned.
The Senior Maintenance Mechanic is known for a proactive approach, practical problem‑solving, and dedication to minimizing downtime in mission‑critical environments.
- Assembles, installs and maintains mechanical systems, machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoots equipment and performs routine preventative maintenance.
- Reads, interprets and follows instructions and operation manuals and schematics.
- Completes assigned work orders and communicates with the departments throughout the process.
- Cleans, repairs and installs equipment and parts as needed.
- Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
- Performs general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Four years of relevant experience.
- Completion of Trade School or Associate’s Degree program.
- Must possess a valid Texas driver's license and meet Baylor College of Medicine's driving eligibility requirements, including a clean driving record and a minimum of three years of U.S. driving history.
