Job DescriptionHead Groundskeeper responsibilities and qualifications.
Qualifications- Clear and valid Texas Driver’s License with acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver’s requirements.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in CFISD Grounds Department or related employment.
- Ability to operate all lawn equipment safely and correctly.
- Knowledge of painting and lining athletic fields.
- Ability to manage other employees.
- Ability to read and understand written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally effectively.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to speak, read, and understand English.

Salary / Paygrade$15.15/HS-4
Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees
- Responsible for all duties of the Groundskeeper.
- Responsible for the lawn maintenance and upkeep of assigned High School or Middle School campus. (Ex: mowing, edging, blowing, tree & shrub trimming, leaf raking, and mulching)
- Daily ground check of campus for trash or other debris.
- Weekly maintenance on all lawn equipment. (Ex: grease, oil check, check mowing blades, belts, tires, etc…)
- Turn in work orders for equipment repair or work needed at the campus.
- Schedule the day for other workers if located at a High School.
- Keep Foreman and Supervisor advised of campus and athletic field conditions.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and around moving objects or vehicles. Exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals (herbicides and fertilizer), and loud noises. Frequent district-wide travel.
