Hudson Elms Skilled Nursing & Rehab Center is now hiring a Part-time Maintenance Assistant!

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Maintenance Assistant to help maintain the physical integrity of our building and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred (healthcare setting a plus).
  • Basic knowledge of general maintenance procedures and safety practices.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must meet health assessment requirements, including two stage Mantoux skin test.
  • Must be capable of performing the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to communicate in English, verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general maintenance, repair, and upkeep of the facility’s interior and exterior.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting tasks as needed.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
  • Ensure that safety standards and regulations are followed.
  • Help maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools.
  • Support environmental services with seasonal groundskeeping (e.g., snow removal, lawn care).
  • Report any hazards or equipment issues to the Maintenance Director or Administrator.
