Job Summary:

The Project Lead - OSP will act as the on‑site coordinator and crew supervisor for voice and data installation projects. The Project Lead – OSP’s task is to ensure job completion according to company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining the efficiency of the staff assigned to the project.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Guide daily inspections and all confined space equipment.
  • Oversee all radios and air monitors for projects.
  • Keep the worksite clean and organized, free from unnecessary hazards.
  • Consistently run major project crews; assume responsibility for effective performance, provide necessary training, ensure adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines, hold weekly safety meetings, and initiate performance‑related communications, escalating to Project Manager if necessary.
  • Determine best practices for multiple vendor products, including MAXCELL, Innerduct & various types of cabling.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion and compliance with project budget.
  • Provide "as‑built" documentation to identify all materials, labor, equipment and tooling used on projects, invoice the customer, show proof of satisfactory completion, and provide or update final "formal" documentation as required by project specifications.
  • Perform quality checks and prepare red‑lined as‑built drawings.
  • Serve in conjunction with the OSP Superintendent as the main on‑site customer contact for questions and/or concerns; attend facility and construction meetings when required.
  • Fully complete all IES paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
  • Perform work consistently demonstrating a detailed level of technical knowledge; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
Salary

Min: USD $32.00 per hour. Max: USD $35.00 per hour.

Qualifications
  • Physical and Mental Requirements
    • Efficient in reading blueprints of conduit maps.
    • Self‑motivated, positive in approach, professional, and able to help create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).
    • Capable of withstanding prolonged and repeated lifting (including overhead), standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, crawling, pulling and shoveling.
    • Able to work in an outdoor (heat, rain, snow, etc.) or indoor construction work environment.
    • Promote the Company culture and mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners.
    • Act as the Company liaison for interface with customer representative(s).
    • Possess proven problem‑solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
    • Work at heights, off a ladder and in confined spaces; lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds.
    • Be able to see and distinguish different colors, read small print and hear and recognize audible signals such as dial tones.
    • Travel within the branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
  • Tools: screwdriver (regular and Phillips), torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves. Muck boots/water boots.
  • Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
    • Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
    • Must possess a minimum of three (3) years of OSP experience or underground utility work in telecommunications.
    • Must possess a minimum of six (6) months supervisory and/or managerial experience.
    • Must possess and be able to effectively use the tools listed above.
    • Have a proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
    • Be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
    • Meet Company minimum driving standards.
