Giga Parts has a solid reputation for fast and efficient service. We require knowledgeable, professional, friendly, team-spirited and flexible Technicians who can quickly diagnose and remedy hardware and software problems in our store. Since we also do Amateur Radio modification and small device (smartphone and tablet) repair, we are looking for Technicians with the ability to manipulate and solder small parts.
The ideal candidate is an experienced computer hardware and software builder and problem solver.
- has experience diagnosing and repairing hardware systems with varying degrees of difficulty, including laptop and desktop computers
- has experience installing and diagnosing problems with Windows Operating Systems
- has experience securing systems against malware
- has experience removing malware and its deleterious effects
- actively gathers and shares knowledge
- considers punctuality an important facet of professionalism
- is detail oriented and insists on accuracy with every task
- is not bothered by customers behaving badly
- presents him/herself and Giga Parts in a professional manner and appearance
- can pass a drug test
- has no criminal history
- is capable of tasks involving some physical exertion including lifting and carrying 60 pound computers, and safely climb ladders
- has (or is able to acquire within two months) a General Amateur Radio license
- has A+, Network+ CompTIA certifications
- has experience diagnosing problems with Apple and Linux Operating Systems
- has experience building hardware systems with varying degrees of difficulty
- has fine motor skills, to include small soldering
- has Microsoft Certified Professional certification
- has experience with remote management tools
- is familiar with Digium VOIP systems
- is familiar with Sophos UTM systems
- is flexible with work and lunch hours
- enjoys learning
