Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian at Gooding Elementary School. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

This is a Monday through Friday position, 8 hours day.

• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
• Ensure that all areas of the school are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with school policies.
• Assist with the setup and cleanup of school events and activities as needed.
• Monitor and restock supplies in restrooms and other facilities.
• Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Collaborate with staff and administration to address specific cleaning requests or concerns.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs and replacing filters.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus but not required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks associated with cleaning.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as proper handling and disposal methods.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals.
• Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as necessary for special events or school activities.
• Must pass a background check and comply with school district policies and regulations.
