Summary
Maintenance Manager leads the upkeep of all manufacturing assets, manages maintenance budget and resources, designs and installs new systems, and oversees multiple shifts of maintenance technicians and mechanics.
Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and control the efforts of the Maintenance Team.
- Validate and initiate new systems and equipment.
- Assist operations in training operators on new equipment.
- Adhere to and promote all safety guidelines and company standards.
- Orient, train, develop staff, and provide feedback and formal reviews.
- Respond quickly to emergencies.
- Run preventive maintenance program to minimize service repairs.
- Operate on a fixed monthly budget by finding alternative suppliers, controlling overtime, and scheduling employees.
- Oversee purchasing of new parts and maintenance equipment.
- Coordinate bids and price quotes from outside contractors.
- Oversee projects for repair and replacement of equipment and plant infrastructure.
- Coordinate and maintain plant preventive maintenance program both internally and through contractors.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems issues.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation.
- Conserve maintenance resources.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment, upholding procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Perform entry and maintenance in confined spaces, following all relevant policies and wearing required respirators.
- Provide mechanical maintenance information to colleagues.
- Document all repairs, preventive maintenance, and inspections.
- Other duties as assigned.
The role requires standing, walking, sitting, using hands, and speaking. It includes climbing stairs and/or ladders, reaching, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
Qualifications- High School education or equivalent.
- Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical (high and low voltage), electronic control systems, welding, cutting, fabrication, and general mechanics.
- Knowledge of forklift operations.
- Ability to record data for maintenance records.
- Ability to collaborate with others in all phases of manufacturing.
Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance, and be available and willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
Work EnvironmentEmployees may be exposed to temperature and humidity variations, and may work outdoors for short periods. Some work will be done in a typical office environment with computers and other equipment at normal noise levels.
Compensation and LocationCompensation Range: $70,000 - $110,000.
