Description

The Night Gondola Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of guests traveling to and from the Roundhouse Restaurant during evening operations. This position provides attentive guest service while monitoring lift operations, completing required inspections and closing procedures, and supporting a safe and clean work environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working independently in changing mountain conditions.

Hours:

Approximately 4:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday evenings, with additional evenings as scheduled.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Safely load and unload guests and monitor gondola operations in accordance with Sun Valley safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete required pre-operational procedures, inspections, and lift-closing procedures.
  • Remain alert to guest safety and provide assistance to guests who may need additional support while loading or unloading.
  • Provide exceptional guest service by anticipating guest needs and creating a welcoming and positive experience.
  • Assist with snow removal, daily setup, and routine maintenance of work areas and equipment.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other team members to complete daily operational responsibilities.
  • Communicate and work respectfully with Mountain Operations and other Resort departments to address operational or guest-related concerns.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on business needs.
Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods in varying winter weather conditions.
  • Ability to complete required Sun Valley Lift Department/Lift Operator training.
  • Reliable and attentive with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Availability to work throughout the winter season.
  • Engage in physical activities like standing for long periods, walking, and utilizing hands for tasks that involve gripping, handling, and reaching
  • Ability to safely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
