Position Summary

As the Customer Development Manager within the HIPE team calling on Menards and Jetro Cash and Carry
, you will primarily manage the relationship with these key retailers and deliver profitable sales growth. Responsibilities include developing and executing sales strategies, negotiating contracts, forecasting and planning, PO and service level management, and ensuring we are a preferred supplier partner. Strong analytical skills, P&L management experience, and the ability to identify and build solid growth plans based on the synergies between these retailers and Colgate’s strategic goals are critical.

This role is preferably based in Rosemont, IL, but can also be field based in the NY/NJ area. Relocation to Rosemont, IL is offered for this position. Work visa sponsorship is not available; all applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis and not require the Company’s sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • Own and deliver sales objectives on volume, spending, and retail execution.
  • Formulate and execute strategic plans to maximize volume, profitability, and customer service.
  • Apply consumer insights aligned with Colgate brand equities to drive incremental growth.
  • Lead customer engagement, maintain direct relationships, and build joint business plans.
  • Collaborate with the direct manager to ensure clarity, communication, and alignment.
  • Manage customer‑level P&L, including baseline and promotional activities with accurate volume and spend.
  • Oversee trade spend management: reconcile and update plans monthly, ensure deductibles, and perform ROI analysis.
  • Leverage Revenue Growth Management principles to grow the business.
  • Provide accurate demand planning and forecasting for optimal service levels.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in sales, category management, or similar roles.
  • Strong experience working with data and analytical tools.
  • Understanding of P&L management.
  • Solid experience with syndicated services account and loyalty data (Nielsen, IRI).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in consumer product goods.
  • Previous experience with Menards & Jetro Cash and Carry.
  • Experience with broker partners to drive superior execution.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Financial acumen.
Compensation & Benefits

Salary Range: $ – $ USD. Pay is determined by experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit‑sharing, and long‑term incentives for executive‑level roles.

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions. Minimum 15 vacation/PTO days for salaried employees (120 hours for hourly employees) and 13 paid holidays. Paid sick leave is adjusted per local laws.
